Sports Meet (High Jump)
High jump is a track and field event where athletes aim to clear a horizontal bar using techniques such as the Fosbury Flop, a revolutionary method introduced by Dick Fosbury in the 1960s. In this event, athletes approach the bar with a run-up, generating momentum before executing a backward arch over the bar. The last remaining jumper is declared the winner, with the bar's height progressively raised throughout the competition. High jumpers use flexible poles and a landing area with soft padding to absorb the impact. The current men's world record is 2.45 meters, held by Javier Sotomayor, while the women's record stands at 2.09 meters, held by Stefka Kostadinova.
